Can one have many tradelinks and tradeparameters files or do we need to have only one for each

Trade links files has to be a single one. No restriction on the number of trade scenario files (for parameters).

Remember that if you are creating links using the matrix format, first character of sheetname decides where the link is 'U'nilateral or 'B'ilateral
