Macro Module

Dear all,

I am trying to use the macro module following the "TIMES-Macroecomposition into Hard-Linked
LP and NLP Problems" instructions.
I am first trying to use the CSA procedure and I was wondering if it was possible to enter the parameters TM_GDP0 and TM_GR in Veda_FE.
If not in which .MSA file do we have to insert the value of these parameters?

I tried various configurations but never succeeded to obtain the MSADDF.DD...

Indeed, it appears that VEDA-FE does not (yet) support the TIMES-MACRO input parameters.

Amit: Am I correct in this?

The other TIMES shell, ANSWER-TIMES, does support them.

You should never modify the GAMS source code files of the TIMES model generator by putting input data into the source code. But you could, of course, prepare a data file for the MACRO input parameters manually, and add an INCLUDE call for that file in the RUN file. But if you are not familiar with GAMS, I would suggest to wait until VEDA-FE supports the input parameters, or to use ANSWER.

I have some short questions I was not able to answer by browsing the forum:
 
-          Can the TIMES-MACRO module already used by Veda-FE?
-          Is there a Veda template for the data input necessary for the MACRO module?
-          Is there any other documentation on the MACRO module then the two docs from 2006 from Remme/Blesl and2013 (Kypreos/Lehtila)
-          Are there other working groups who working more with the MACRO module (so I can get into contact with them)?

Hi Martin,

- the Macro module is already supported by VEDA-FE
- you can input data for the Macro module in a veda scenario file
- the advanced demo on the ETSAP wibe site include an example of inputs and outputs fro the Macro module (https://iea-etsap.org/demo-models/ETSAP_DemoS_Adv.zip)
