Suppose you update a selective component of the MSOffice installation on your machine, such as upgrading/reinstalling only MS-Excel or MS-Access, and running VEDA-FE thereafter throws the exception 'XLLEX.DLL is missing or damaged'. After selecting OK, another prompt appears stating 'VEDA-FE: the component ActiveX could not create the object'.
This is not an error related to VEDA. The installation of MS-Excel seems to have been corrupted. I found this by opening 'Programs & Features' from Control Panel and noticed 2 instances of MS-Excel installed on my machine.
To get VEDA functional once again, I had to remove all extra Office applications, and then reinstall each corrupted/extra application.
