Veda2.0 Released!

Error on path access
#1
Hello,

In running a demo model on VEDA 2.0, I am able to synchronise the model fine, however I'm hit with an error on attempting to Solve. Namely, access to the AppData folder content within the Demo Models is denied, and I get an error in solving cases and accessing saved cases. Furthermore, I'm unable to create new scenario cases as a result.

I can access/view this content fine through the File Manager route on Windows, so not sure what might be causing the slip here - any help gratefully accepted!

Many thanks

Charlie

I can see that at least the Localhost VEDA2 runs under the user account. Therefore, the access rights should be the same as you have in general.  But could it be that for some reason you have only read permissions?

Try opening a command prompt at the AppData folder of the model (Shift+right-click the folder in File Explorer and then choose “Open command window here"), and execute the following commands:

> cacls .
> attrib *.json

See what you get as a response from each, and post here if uncertain.

Thanks Antti - it appears I didn't fully have the required edit permissions needed for running Veda 2 on my server.

Now having an issue where clicking Solve says that the input string is in the wrong format, however I assume this is a separate problem.

Thanks again!

Glad to hear you got at least one of your problems solved.

Sounds very interesting... As a long-time VEDA user I have been lurking on this Forum for over ten years, but never heard of such a problem.  I think you should try and report the problem to the VEDA developers. A new thread on the Forum might also catch their attention to your issue.

But based on many earlier Forum discussions, I would anticipate that there is no way they can help you unless you provide more detailed information, and the VEDA log files, which give detailed information about error conditions. You should find such under the logs folder under the VEDA installation path.

Thanks Antti Smile.

We will schedule a web meeting to resolve this. Most probably this is also related to permissions.
