Hello guys pleas help me. I have an Power plants, CHP and HP. Every single facility has in BASE scenario LIFE (Lifetime 40 years). Now i need to change lifetime of every of them.
I m using Parametric scenario ~TFM_UPD for change this value, but it´s not working.
I am no VEDA expert, but using TFM_UPD has been working well for me. However, I have only used ~TFM_UPD in regular scenarios. I think you can find some examples on the Forum. Not easy to see why it would not be working.
Perhaps you might benefit from attending the forthcoming VEDA-TIMES training course, where you could ask for a hands-on demonstration. https://iea-etsap.org/index.php/training

Hello Antti. Do you have some example of UPDATING a NCAP_TLIFE of certain technology. ?
I have an technology in BASE scenario which has Lifetime 40 years. And my indent is to change a lifetime 40 to 20 certain with scenario files. I do not want to do it in BASE scenario. I m trying to use also by regular scenario but after Synchronization i get info : No record were generated.
I meant browse view of the seed value - the value you are looking to update.
but the problem is clear. Initial specification of the attribute is in base year, and you have put 2025 in the UPD table. UPD changes only the value, for exactly the same set of indexes. It will work if you delete 2025 from the year col.

Hello i think it si working, but first i deleted the year 2025 run and nothing happend. So i start model from scratch and the new NCAP_TLIFE (10) yrs is in Browse in Regular scenario.
But i want to ask, to these Sets_file. It is necessary for model? Because my model looks working without Sets_file.
well, start from scratch is hardly ever needed with Veda2.0. there must have been some oversight on your part, otherwise deleting 2025 and syncing this scenario should have worked.
the set definitions file is not compulsory, but very useful in the Results part.

Hello Amit and Antti.
I have in my model new technology in SubRES, STARTING in 2022 defined with attribute START=2022. Its ELC technology and i can not figure out why ELC commodity NPP3ELC from this technology is also in year 2018 as dummy imp.
Please see attached.
START defines the first milestone year when new capacity can be installed. I guess you have defined START=2022 for NPP-BLOCK3, as it clearly starts having capacity only in 2025. However, the process TP-NPP3 does have activity already in 2018 (not clear why, but it seems forced), and it consumes NPP3ELC. The results indicate that you don't have any supply for NPP3ELC in 2018, and so you have dummy imports.
So, the question is why you have the TP-NPP3 activity already in 2018–2020? Only you can tell...

I have not defined activity for NPP3ELC for year 2018 neither 2019, 2020... TP-NPP3 is technology which convert NPP3ELC (electricity commodity) to ELECTRICITY entering to Grid.
(But i guess i need also define a STARTING point for technology TP-NPP3 = 2022 not only for Power plant ? Right ? )

Sure you can try, but if its activity is forced e.g. by an insufficient supply of ELECTRICITY, it won't help eliminating dummies. So explain first (to yourself, at least) why you have the activity for it in 2018–2020 in the first place?

Hello Antti, i partially fixed the issue.
My last question for now, i hope
My model has HPL technology with name HPL109- heating plant. Its lifetime is 40 years, using fuel mix with name technology (process FM109), (Commodity,FMIX109, consisting HFO- heavy fuel oil, HC- Hard coal, BIO- Biomass, NG- natural gas ). Base year in model is 2018. After year 2025, can i make new fuel mix in SubRES file, with fuels ( BIO- biomas, WOOD- wood, NG- natural gas, TAP- other alternative fuel) ?
technology Commodity Input (SHARE-I-UP~2025) Commodity Out NFM109 BIO 50%
WOOD 30%
NG 20%
TAP 40% FMIX109 - Name of fuel mix should has the same name, because input to the same HPL109
Old tech. FM109 has decomissioning year, 2025, and new tech NFM109 has START in 2025.
It is possible, will it works ?
Yes, of course it is possible and thereby works.
I don't really understand why you use separate fuel mix processes, but if you do, I guess I would just use a zero ACT_BND to shut down the first one in 2023 and to disable the second one until 2022 (so no capacity needed for either). Alternatively, one could use START for the second process.
However, you could model the same fuel share options by a single fuel mix process, or even better, both integrated into the HPL technology. Thus, I am not sure what the idea is in using three processes for the HPL technology, when one can use just one...

First Fuel mix is using fuels with higher emissions factors. And HPL109 is fluid boiler technology which can combust Biomas, Wood and TAP - (waste) at once, but TAP, is planning to combust after 2025. So i need to create a New Fuel MIX with more flexibility. Base on price, and emissions model should decided a sahre of new fuels in this mix in next period.
Its working but very wierd. In first pic. is New fuel mix with fuels, SLU,TAP, BIO. u can see ist a FIX, share in 2025. But in result pic. is only SLU fuel. And if i change a SLU fuel for different fuel this technology is not even in result.
Every fuel with price is in VT_file. i have checked it many times. Model work only with SLU fuel nevertheless there are two more fuels with FIXED value.
I have spent all night to figure it out but no result.
