There is a small problem with Helene's log: VEDA_FE would not record anything regarding that particular error into it, i.e. there were no new log entries after we had reproduced the error. Moreover, now there is a problem with the error itself: it no longer occurs. I strongly suspect that MS Access security update (KB979440) helped...

I got rid of the error in the previous post. After I launched browse in TIMES view, it does not show up anymore, even if I restart VEDA_FE.

Please not that there is a rather important point in the list of changes (new features):

Commodity declaration is not inherited across rows in ~FI_T tables anymore

You will need to modify your FI_T tables one time. The import errors (values ignored) will identify all such cases.
