Shale Gas replacing Natural Gas
#1

Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland have been in news with companies coming forward  to extract shale gas. Currently, Northern Ireland imports 100% of its gas for domestic and electricity generation. It has been estimated that 2.2 Trillion cubic ft (tcft)  gas is available to meet the daily requirement of 1.2mmcft up to 2050. This will make Northern Ireland self-reliant on gas.

Shale Gas is '0' in base year. Shale gas production will start in 2015 and   Shale gas is expected to power existing CCGT plants. This may also replace coal and other renewables if costs are less. I have base case model without Shale gas but having all technologies and commodities (GNA, COA, etc).

How do I introduce Shale gas in the model and How do I run the model with Shale gas and Without Shale gas as 2 Scenarios.
