Q about parametric runs

Dear All,

I haven't been running parametric scenarios for a long while, and now I have a stupid question:
I tried to refresh my memory about parametric scenarios by running a small test with the DemoS4 model, taken form the  Scen_Par-CO2Price.xlsx of the original Parametric scenario demo.  But I see only one (the last one, number 0005) of the five cases being executed.  What would be my mistake here?  And why does VEDA say "Linked VdFile not found for demos_004-pars~0005_2502.vds", because the vd file is there (as also shown below)?

I could not find much help about it in the online documentation, but I must be doing something stupid.

Dear Antti,

Please ignore the message, we will remove it. The vd file is found on retrying after 1 sec.
Also, can you share the parametric scenario file with us to further understand the issue?

Aha,  I found out that VEDA2 might be expecting a range in the ~InputCell: tag (the original file, included in DemoS_ADV_ParScen.7z, only had 5 there).  Is this an intentional change in VEDA2?  Has it been mentioned somewhere?

I tested again with a range 1-5 now, and it worked.  However, it also revealed that CMDF_BOT does not seem to work under parametric scenarios.  Is that intended?

Thanks for pointing that out; we will test the Cmd parameters in parscen and let you know.

I have added the InputCell behavior change in the "Things that are different" section.

If we take Antti's example I would like to see Monday as scenario instead of CO2Price_0001

Yes I would like to try the report feature please, but it is only on the result side

Antti's solution does not work in my situation, I am talking about the browse tab not the results

Apologies for taking so long to understand what you were after.

It is not possible right now but it is a good idea. We will introduce a scenario description facility and populate it with the names that are specified in the Report def. But this solution will work only if you are using the Report def file.

Alright thanks, will it change the names in places like run files and case folders generated with the run manager ?

But I am happy because you must be making good use of Browse, which is something I strongly recommend to users at all levels. Even I haven't felt the need for this after all these years. I do browse, but am generally satisfied looking at the patterns that emerge in the scenario col. It would be useful to have the scenario description show up on hovering. So, thanks for pushing this.

Alright, thanks. I see a need when I am running large number of scenarios on a distinct location than where veda is. I can control the advancement of the solved cases in a terminal but the names as numbers is not ideal

VD* files for a case and the key metrics you produce with your post-processing. I would also need your set definitions.
