can we add a new input to a BY technology (fuel tech) or do we have to create a new technology with the previous input and the new one

Yes, you can. You can use the ~TFM_TOPINS (Topology Insert) table to introduce new input/output via transformation and scenario files. Then you can declare any Process-Commodity attributes that you need.

This table declares BIOGAS as a new input for process INDNGA005 in all regions. Further, you can use the process/commodity filters quite freely... all combinations will be declared. Of course, "Out" is the other valid entry for the region columns.

This table is supported in BY and SubRES trans and the regular scenario files.
