difference between var_ncap and var cap
|
See Documentation, Part II, Section 3.3 Report parameters, and specifically the entries PAR_CAPL(r,t,p) and PAR_PASTI(r,t,p,v).
In short, Var_cap(r,t,p) gives the total amount of capacity available in period t. Var_Ncap(r,t,p) is the level of the new capacity variable in period t. Positive ILEDs affect the amount of available capacity in the period of installation (and later). Use negative ILEDs to avoid the time-shift caused by ILED.

Yes I have read it, but i still do not get Var_ncap. when we say period t, it means a specific year, or in that case we refer like all the years that i am telling the model in sys_settings? The iled thing, i understand that if i put iled=0, then var_ncap and var_cap would match right?

What is it that you do not get? Sure, with ILED ≤ 0 they would match if the capacity was earlier zero. Period is the whole model period, and the available capacity in a period is the (discounted) average capacity over the individual years in that period.
