Dear Members,
I am trying to install CPLEX solver from IBM website but it's not downloading even I downloaded JAVA (IBM-Install-DD) to support the directory file of CPLEX but still its not going forward when I click on the download screen blinks, and the download never started.
Please let me know if anyone can help me in this regard.
I will be really grateful to you for that.

I think most VEDA users use the GAMS built-in Cplex link.
You may consider asking about the issue on the IBM Forum, as the experts are there. I found a post about a similar issue there, see the following link:
Problem downloading IBM ILOG CPLEX
It is mentioned there that you could use HTTP download instead of the Download Director. And the FAQ says:
Q:
When I click the “Download now” button on the software download page nothing happens.
A:
The default setting for software downloads requires the installation of IBM Download Director. Instructions to install Download Director can be found here. Alternatively, you may select to perform an HTTP download from the download software page.
So, maybe you could just try that HTTP option?

Thanks for your detailed response. you are right it requires a download director but when I click on that option it just blinks and nothing happens no download. I contacted them they sent me the same link from where I was trying to download. but it wasn't working. I don't know how to solve this issue.

So, you did not try the HTTP download? By definition, HTTP download does not require the Download Director, and the FAQ tells you that you can use that as an alternative to using the Download Director.

I've heard the process of getting IBM CPLEX setup is indeed a headache. But once in place VEDA/GAMS will seamlessly connect to CPLEX via the GAMS/CPLEX-Link.

Thanks Gary, that's certainly reassuring.
Is it the Cplex academic initiative licence that would make it beneficial to acquire Cplex directly from IBM, and not bundled within GAMS?
