Veda2.0 Released!

Reading from postgres
#1
Hi Veda

I was wondering if there was a way to query the postgres database with read-only access. It could be quite nice for automatic testing, e.g. to cross check the syncronised input data is what I think it is, before launching a run. Or in other cases to see what the input data was, when I am analysing a final job. (I realise that VEDA can drop a ~Data gdx file) but a database query is just quicker.

While Veda has not responded, just in case it might be useful, recall also that the GAMS gdx2sqlite utility can be used to convert the Data gdx file into an SQLite database, and I have found it working very fast with the -small -fast options.

Thanks Antti. I recommend this option - of using the Data gdx file - because it also takes care of the scenarios you have selected for a case (and the overwrites etc).

Thanks. I understand. It's just that it would be really usefull to see the syncronised data and be able to compare with the final data used as input from the case selections.

OK Lars, we will get back to you with some options. Are you doing this automation with Python?

Thanks
I am using mostly automations with R, but sometimes with python.
