Dear Veda users,
I wanted to share a new initiative we’ve launched on LinkedIn - a series of dashboards and discussions under the banner of an IKEA approach to modeling - build your own narratives.
This is an effort to reimagine energy modeling not as one-way delivery, but as a platform for structured, shared inquiry.
We’re publishing interactive dashboards based on high-resolution scenario runs (starting with TIMES/KiNESYS, expanding soon to OSeMOSYS), with the intent of making them accessible, engaging, and open to iteration - no modeling expertise needed to explore.
Here’s a link to a short article that outlines the vision: ? Reimagining Modeling: From One-Way Advisory to Collaborative Exploration
If you’ve built models with Veda and have dashboards, narratives, or experiments you’d like to share more publicly - or if you just want to follow along - we’d love to have you involved.
Let’s make modeling visible, intuitive, and impactful beyond our usual circles.
I have a feeling that the open-source approach is taking modeling further away from the stakeholders. It is good to lower the financial barriers for those who want to do modeling, but it must be complemented with platforms that lower the skill barriers for consumers of insights. I am trying to create model users... not just model builders.
Cheers,
Amit
