How to model a condensing CHP
#1
Dear all,
I want to model a condensing CHP, and I have two questions as follows.
    1) Factories need steam with different pressures (e.g. high-level, middle-level and low-level heat), so how to model a condensing CHP with many kinds of heat?
    2) In two different condensing CHP processes, the other parameters are the same except for CEH, and amounts of outputs in these to processes will be different. As  a result, what is the role of CEH to produce amounts of ELC and heat?
     3) For a CHP process, I can't recognize that it is a BP or a condensing one, becasuse their input parameters seem to be the same.

Some quick answers below:

1) Define a commodity for each type of heat and add several heat outputs to the process, as necessary. For constraining the output shares of the different heat flows, you would need to use FLO_SHAR.
2) CEH is the "coefficient of electricity to heat", i.e. the amount of electricity lost per heat gained when moving along the iso-fuel line from the condensing mode towards the full CHP mode (or the other way round for technologies modeled according to the full CHP mode energy efficiency). It is only needed for CHP technologies with a "pass-out turbine" capability, and for BP-type CHP technologies modeled according to the full CHP mode energy efficiency. Hence, it is usually not used at all for BP-type CHP technologies.
3) If the input parameters (and topology) of the two CHP processes are the same, they should be identical. If the processes have a fixed NCAP_CHPR, they both represent BP processes (fixed heat-to-power ratio), but if only an NCAP_CHPR(UP) is defined for them, they both represent pass-out turbines with flexible output shares between electricity and heat.
