Last week I upgraded my MS Office installation from 32 bit to 64 bit. The first time I ran Veda FE following this upgrade I got the error message attached. I tried to reinstall VEDA FE, but the same error pops up.
Hi,
There can be 3 possible reasons for this error:
1. Windows User Permissions and AntiVirus Exclusions- Insufficient permissions on the VEDA Folder is known to throw exceptions with VEDA-FE/BE. Can you ensure that all permissions exist? Also, you said you reinstalled VEDA-FE. Can you kindly describe the steps you took to reinstall it? This is a known issue and has been documented here.
2. Inappropriate Access Database Driver- In case you are using Access 2016(or any MS Access later than 2007), you will need to download the MSAccess database engine driver for that particular distribution of MSOffice. The default MSAccessDatabase Driver included with VedaInstaller will not work in such cases.
3. Multiple MSOffice Instances- Are you sure that there arent multiple MSOffice installations existing on your machine? This usually happens when only 1 component of MSOffice is updated(like updating only MSExcel).

Hi Utsav,
Thanks for the reply. I have followed suggestions 1 and 2. I don't think suggestion 3 is relevant, since I did a complete reinstall of the entire MS Office suite.
In step 1 I downloaded the installer from dropbox. Installed and requested a new license key.
I now get a different error message (see attachment).

Hi Morten,
In case its not an issue, could you kindly reinstall using these steps:
Remove the previous VEDA installation: If you cannot find VEDA listed in Control Panel, rename the old VEDA folder as VEDA_old to preserve your models and data as is. That should take care of existing installations for the time being.
Create a folder called as VEDA on C:\ or D:\, depending upon the installation directory you wish to use.
Place the latest downloaded VEDAInstaller.exe in this newly created VEDA folder. Ensure that your user has full permissions to read, write and execute on this folder. VEDA Support Site- Permissions has information on how to assign permissions properly.
Add an exception of VEDAInstaller.exe on your AntiVirus application.
Re-run the installer and reinstall VEDA_FE and VEDA_BE.
