Veda2.0 Released!

Improving workflow for multiple scenarios
#1
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out ways to improve my workflow to get results out of VEDA and into Excel where all my templates are set up.

1) I'm trying to understand Batch mode.  I have 5 separate tables that I've set up but I would love to be able to view these tables (for export) with the same scenarios for each table (but with different scenarios than the last time I viewed the tables).

E.g. in one case, I might want to view all five tables for scenarios A-F, then another time I'd like to view them for a different set of scenarios (G-M).  I don't seem to be able to change the scenario(s) that are linked to all table while I'm in Batch mode. This can be a big pain to go through and click off all the scenarios I'm not running this time and click on all the scenarios I am interested in, for each and every scenario.  Perhaps I'm doing something wrong but it would seem like this would be a useful functionality of batch mode, otherwise I'm stuck with doing everything table by table.

2) I notice a bug or feature, not sure which, but my table layout may change if I remove all scenarios that I don't want before adding the scenarios I do want.  It seems to be the case that the table layout is lost if there are no scenarios selected, even if for a second.  The table layout is lost also if I use the search function to pick the scenarios, even if some scenarios were the same the last time I saved the table.

any help with these issues would help speed up the data flows and would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

Chris

The short answer is Global Filters. Right click on the scenario list on main form and set a global filter on scenarios of interest in each batch. The little blue button at bottom right allows you to save global filters. But some users encounter an OCX error, which will be fixed in the next update (soon).

And this post should give you additional points to consider:

The layout point was meant to be a feature but I also see it as a bug at this point. On our list.
