Veda2.0 Released!

Ramping costs
#1
Hi,

I have a problem with implementing ramping costs in my model. I have defined ACT_CSTRMP for several processes, but it do not seem to have any effect. Even though I can see ACT_CSTRMP being defined for the processes in VEDA_FE (in the Browse/Edit-tab) and ramping exists in the results (i.e. differences in load level between successive time slices occur), the calculated  total costs remain unchanged (thus there is no difference between a run using ACT_CSTRMP and a run not using).  I have tried to include ramping constrains (ACT_UPS) and that works fine.

Is there something I have misunderstood or does something else have to be defined when implementing ramping costs?

Best regards,
Gustaf, LTU

Please report your version of TIMES.
You can see the version at the top of QA_Check.log (most recent versions), or at the top part of the listing file: the second line that reads like TIMES -- VERSION 4.1.2 (right above the Include File Summary).

My version of TIMES is 4.1.1.

Ok, fine, thanks.
Then your version does support ramping costs. The ramping costs work whenever you have defined either ACT_MINLD (minimum stable load) or a partial load efficiency for *any* process (not necessarily for the one with ramping costs). I hope that info helps.

When I define ACT_MINLD everything works well. Thank you!
